However, this hasn\u2019t stopped\nus from finding out some really interesting facts about him. Not only does\nSebastian now work for one of the largest companies in the world, he also\ncreated a really awesome tool when in higher education. We\u2019ll explain all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now residing in London,\nEngland, Sebastian grew up in Australia where he learned about JavaScript and\ncomputer programming<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2016\/3\/24\/11300840\/how-an-irate-developer-briefly-broke-javascript\" rel=\"noopener\"> <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2016\/3\/24\/11300840\/how-an-irate-developer-briefly-broke-javascript\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>whilst in high\nschool<\/strong><\/a>. Sebastian then went on to develop Babel \u2013 a well renown\nnpm package that helps you compile next-generation JavaScript.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the more computer\nprogramming minded people out there, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/babeljs.io\/docs\/en\/index.html\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Babel is a toolchain that is mainly used to\nconvert ECMAScript 2015+ code into a backwards compatible version of JavaScript\nin current and older browsers or environments<\/strong><\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since creating Babel,\nSebastian worked at<a href=\"https:\/\/podcast.babeljs.io\/rome\/\" rel=\"noopener\"> <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/podcast.babeljs.io\/rome\/\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Cloudflare for three months<\/strong><\/a>. Behind this game is some astonishing programming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thibault is the\ndeveloper of<a href=\"https:\/\/lichess.org\/\" rel=\"noopener\"> <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/lichess.org\/\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Lichness<\/strong><\/a> \u2013 a brilliant online chess\nplatform that allows players around the world to play<a href=\"https:\/\/www.liberation.fr\/sports\/2017\/12\/15\/carnet-d-echecs_1616978\" rel=\"noopener\"> <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.liberation.fr\/sports\/2017\/12\/15\/carnet-d-echecs_1616978\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>competitive\nchess<\/strong><\/a>. According to<a href=\"http:\/\/chess-links.org\/\" rel=\"noopener\"> <\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/chess-links.org\/\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Chess Links<\/strong><\/a>, Lichness is the second most\npopular Chess program in the world and is only topped by the famous <strong>Chess.com<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Quite astonishingly,\nLichness is programmed to use artificial inelegance to analyse a gamers\nperformance \u2013 should you require this extra service. He is\nwell worth a follow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">7. <strong>Hadley Wickham, USA<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Originally from\nAuckland, New Zealand, Hadley Wickham is a very active member on GitHub and a\nvery talented individual. He is currently based Houston, Texas and is the<a href=\"https:\/\/rstudio.com\/\" rel=\"noopener\"> <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/rstudio.com\/\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Chief Scientist\nat RStudio<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>R is an \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/rstudio.com\/about\/\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>open source statistical language<\/strong><\/a>\u201d that is\nused to \u201cto make sense of data\u201d. He admits that he is an avid cook\nand maker of cocktails.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">8. <strong>Samy Pesse, France<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Samy Pesse is a<a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/SamyPesse\" rel=\"noopener\"> <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/SamyPesse\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>GitHub\ninfluencer<\/strong><\/a> from Lyon, France. He is currently the Chief\nTechnology Officer (CTO) at GitBook \u2013 a company that he co-founded in 2014.\nGitBook is based in his hometown \u2013 Lyon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gitbook.com\/\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>GitBook<\/strong><\/a> is an Open Source instrument that\nwas created to assist developers with the production of documentation. Founded\nback in 2014, the business has grown rapidly and now boasts over 500,000 users,\n150,000 spaces and 20 million monthly visitors. The GitBook team has now grown\nto 13 employees and the official website is well worth checking out for their<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gitbook.com\/about\" rel=\"noopener\"> <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gitbook.com\/about\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>quirky\nphotographs<\/strong><\/a>. Samy can be spotted with a Nerf Gun \u2013 a fun addition\nto any workspace!
